CCCC Art Show

Republic County High School art students attended the Cloud County Community College High School Art Show on Friday April 4. Seventeen area high schools were in attendance for this annual art competition. Students participated in workshops and an awards assembly at the end of the day.
A welcome was introduced by CCCC art instructor Barb Stevens along with a presentation by Morah Smitha nd Katherine Mogel. These women are the working artist behind the "Brick Wall" project depicting Cloud counties history. Students participated in painting, calligraphy, and hands on clay workshops.
I was very pleased with my students work and glad to see so many students works' recognized. Jill Jackson, Cora Hanquet, and Trenton Colburn received gold medals for their art work. A select group of six students received gold medals on their sidewalk chalk art depicting the theme "Save the World" they were Cole Beneda, Dani Cromwell, Kurt Engle, Cora Hanquet, Alison Krager, and Hillary Woods.
Students receiving blue, red, and or white ribbons were: Seniors Klay Bouray, John Love, Tucker Kent, Jacob Roggenkamp, Alaura Pachta, and Lauren Hoops.
Juniors: Cole Beneda, Kurt Engle, John Imel, Seth Benyschek, Lauren Keefer, Trey Duensing, Hillary Woods, and Danielle McGrath.
